Personal Statement
Originally from Wellington, New Zealand, I moved to the UK in 2015 in order to pursue my architectural career and have since been working as an Architectural Assistant at a leading practice. I have a Master’s degree in architecture, which is the equivalent of UK Part II and am registered with the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists. I have good communication and organisational skills, and have the ability to interpret and draw designs and plans across a range of mediums, including several design and architectural software packages.

Lewis & Hickey is a leading architectural practice operating from five offices in the UK and one in India, with the Guildford office having a focus on retail fit-out and assisted living residential developments for high profile clients.
Through my role as an Architectural Assistant I have gained experience working both individually and as part of a team on a wide range of projects, including retail and high-end office fit outs for several high profile clients, large scale residential projects for a leading assisted living developer, and small doctors surgery renovations. I have worked on all stages of the design process, from initial layout concepts, planning submission and design development, through to full detail construction drawing packages, using both AutoCAD and Revit. I have also recently begun taking more responsibility in co-ordinating projects and dealing directly with clients and contactors.

Signature Promotions is the largest and leading company in the promotional products industry in New Zealand, providing an endless variety of branded promotional products, clothing and corporate gifts. They offer a full service from product design, manufacture and sourcing, to product branding and packaging/dispatch logistics, and work with a range of companies across New Zealand and the World. My role included the coordination of the production process from beginning to end, from designing/proofing concept products according to clients’ requirements, as well as dealing with suppliers and branders to coordinate the sourcing and branding of the products through to final delivery, often within very strict deadlines.

The Connect NZ Repair Centre was tasked with assessing damaged or non functional electronic equipment, mainly for insurance claims, and then repairing or replacing the units before returning them to the client. The role of the Outbound Logistics Officer was to coordinate the packaging and dispatch of completed repairs and collection packs to clients and the return of parts to manufacturers.
Key Achievements:

Redesigned and reorganised the outbound logistics procedures in order to streamline the dispatch process, clearing the large backlog left by predecessor.
- During downtime, on my own initiative I worked alongside repair technicians to learn about computer hardware, including some basic computer repairs.
